Community Engagement Initiative - 2019
Throughout the summer and fall of 2019, I worked with school districts across the country as a member of Apple's Community Engagement Initiative. This program brings K-12 coding to low socio-economic schools through a collaborative effort between Apple, school districts, higher education, and local community partners. The Coding Academies brought teachers together to get a week of coding training and begin working on professional learning. Since that time, I have been working with Lamar University to mentor a group of teachers as they work on grad school courses to learn more about creating significant learning environments while bringing new learning opportunities to the learners and community.
