I am not sure what to say at this point. The last five weeks have been busy, to say the least. I've written more than I have in a long time. And as I think back on it, I wasn't crazy about writing as I was growing up. Maybe it was the authenticity. I am more passionate about this than the essays I was assigned back then. I have to remember that. My students are no different.
I've learned a lot about technology in the classroom. There is a lot of what we covered in this course this I was already familiar with from my work over the last several years. There was even more that was new to me. I have some new perspectives. Look at what I am doing in my classroom and what we are doing is the district through new eyes. Has already created some interesting conversations with administrators as we work on plans to move forward. I'm excited for what the next courses bring. My project is one that I am passionate about and feel very strongly toward. I truly believe that it will make an impact. And that is motivating. I'm confident that the next courses will help me in developing my project further and help strengthen it to ensure its success.

Sir Ken Robinson’s Ted talk (https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1208&v=r9LelXa3U_I) brings to mind a keynote address I saw given by Alan Bean several years ago. Alan Bean was on the crew of the Apollo 12 and the 4th person to walk on the moon. During the address, he said that if we look up to the stars, we can tell exactly where each star will be tomorrow, next year, even the next millennium. They are predictable and we already know what will happen. But for every person, we don’t know where they will be five years from now. We can’t even say with certainty where they will be next year. That chapter hasn’t been written. All of their experiences and the events of their lives will shape their future and make it unique.
The same goes for students. We can’t say where they will be next year. All we can say for certain is where they are right now. Given the great opportunity we have to leverage technology for each of them and then use our own talents as teachers to help guide, that future can be unimaginable. Unless we keep doing what we did in the past which is treat them all alike and pre-select their future for them.
