I'm going to step bravely forward and post this blog about my upcoming experience in putting App Development with Swift into my Capstone Engineering class this fall. The class is the final class in a high-school pre-college engineering program. Over four years, learners experience design and problem solving challenges as they explore engineering. We teach coding, electronics, structures, and all kinds of other fun stuff. It's a very hands-on program. We have made an adjustment this year to put in Swift. For their capstone, learner teams will participate in 3 distinct design projects: A 3D printing project for another teacher on campus, an embedded systems project, and they will write an iOS Swift Playgroud activity for a teacher or create their own app.
I'm going to document what goes on so I can improve my course. At the same time, I will hopefully inspire others to add App Dev to their program. Here goes...
