Too often, teachers are pushed to test students, to only assess where they are now, and rank them. We draw value in the ranking and the scoring. Everything revolves around completing a specific task at a specific time. We don't place value on the work that the students do to get there. Being able to learn is much more important that being able to take a test on demand. As the world evolves, the things we knew today will be obsolete soon. We have to keep learning just to stay current. If we are truly preparing our "students" to take their place in the world, then why are we not putting more emphasis on growth and learning?
